MADE FROM FOODEA BOILED GREEN GRAM
Ingredients for Green Gram Vada
1 cup Green Gram (Pachai Payiru) 1 Cup – 250ml
1 inch Ginger
6 no’s Red Chili
1 tsp Salt Adjust as needed
¼ cup Curd (Plain Yogurt)
¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
2 tbsp Coriander Leaves
2 Cups Oil For Deep Frying
Method
Take the soaked and drained dal in the mixer jar. Add ginger and red chilies and grind it to coarse paste
Heat a pan and add the green gram paste. Keep flame in low
Add turmeric powder and salt and keep stirring in low flame.
Cook the mixture till the moisture is absorbed and the dal becomes crumbled.
take the crumbled mixture in a bowl. Add curd
coriander leaves and give a good mix
Make lemon size vadas out of the vada mixture and keep it ready to deep fry them.
Deep Fry 3-4 vadas in batches till they are golden brown and crispy.
Take out the fried vadas and place them in paper towel to drain excess oil.
Serve the crunchy and yummy Green Moong Vada with Coconut Chutney or Coriander/mint Chutney.
