Foodea Coconut Milk Powder is a shelf-stable dairy-free alternative made from dried coconut milk. It’s a versatile ingredient that can be used in a variety of sweet and savory dishes. Quantity – 1 kg
Chopped nuts (cashews, pistachios, almonds) for garnish (optional)
Method
1. Roast the coconut: Heat ghee in a pan over low heat. Add the coconut and roast for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly, until fragrant and golden brown. Be careful not to burn the coconut.
2. Cook the mixture: Add milk and sugar to the pan. Increase the heat to medium and bring to a boil. Then, reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring continuously, until the mixture thickens and begins to leave the sides of the pan. This can take about 10-15 minutes.
3. Add flavors: If using, stir in cardamom powder and chopped nuts.
4. Shape the laddus: Once the mixture cools slightly, take a small portion and roll it into a ball between your palms. Repeat with the remaining mixture. You can moisten your hands with a little ghee or milk to prevent sticking.
5. Garnish and serve: Garnish the laddus with additional chopped nuts or desiccated coconut (optional). Serve at room temperature or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
